If maxi dresses and jumpsuits aren't a part of your closet arsenal, you aren’t living your most fashionable life. The closet staples are such a comfortable way to look effortlessly chic and depending on how you accessorize, they can easily be a day or night look!
I styled Donna (instagram: @donnnnaaaaa) in a black and white striped rayon maxi dress with a halter neckline. Her petite frame paired with a dress that has a hem that is shorter on the sides along with black chunky heels gives the illusion that Donna is longer than she actually is. The messy low ponytail and fedora gave this look a casual daytime feeling, but if she were to ditch the fedora, add some dangle earrings, strappy heels, and a black clutch, she would be ready to head out into the night!
Styling Bri (instagram: peachybumblebee) in this jumpsuit was fun and easy because it was already a cut that accentuated her figure! Loose fit jumpsuits with an elasticized waist are universally flattering, and the leaf pattern and darker fabric created a slimming effect while still showing off her curves! The jumpsuit hit mid calf and the heels added a few inches to Bri’s height and pulled the whole look together. The key to styling a jumpsuit is most importantly the fit - find one that works with your body and then think about accessories to bring it all together!
Still looking for other ways to style your maxi dress or jumpsuit?
throw on a leather biker jacket, a black crossbody purse and some white sneakers paired with a floral maxi dress to give off too-cool-for-school vibes
you can tie a silk scarf with a fun print around your neck and coordinate that with some equally fun heels
don't underestimate the power of a waist-defining accessory! The silk scarf mentioned above could also be tied into a “belt” to add a fun pop-of-color and to snaaaatch your waist and create a flattering shape
